Research topics: financial decisions in private house­­holds and tax psychology. Professor i.R. the University of Vienna, visiting professor at the University of Economics and Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Studies, Vienna.

Erich Kirchler completed his studies in psychology and anthropology in 1979 at the University of Vienna and his habilitation in 1989 in psychology at the University of Linz. Since 1992 he has been Professor of Applied Psychology (Business Psychology) at the Psychological Faculty of the University of Vienna. He worked as a visiting professor at many European universities (e.g. France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland).
