Marco
Büchel

Motivation

Has been accompanying the Ski World Cup as an expert and co-commentator since he retired from world-class sport.

Growing up in a rural region of Liechtenstein, entertainment was very limited in the 1970s. Marco Büchel found his way to exercise through creativity and the urge to move. An odyssey through many sports clubs ultimately brought him to ski racing. His decision to attend a ski trade school after primary and secondary school was irrefutable. With solid professional training under his belt, Marco Büchel, then 20 years old, decided to focus entirely on world-class sports. In his almost 20-year career, he has won four World Cups. His triumph on the Streif in Kitzbühel will not be forgotten. Another 14 podium places and winning the World Cup silver medal in the giant slalom in Vail'99 were among his highlights.
