Kälin
Accredited assessor for the Cradle to Cradle Certified® certification standard.
From 1981 to 2004, Albin Kälin was the Managing Director of Rohner Textil AG in Switzerland. Under his leadership, the company won 19 international design awards since the 1990s. In 1993, he initiated the development of the Climatex® product line (www.climatex.com), thus creating the first Cradle to Cradle® products worldwide. In 2001, Albin Kälin was awarded the UBS Key Trophy as the "Rhine Valley Entrepreneur of the Year".
From 2002 to 2007, he was a member of the supervisory board of the Fein Elast Group in Austria. From 2005 to 2009, he was the CEO of EPEA Internationale Umweltforschung GmbH in Hamburg. From 2007, he additionally served as the CEO of EPEA Netherlands.
In 2009, Albin Kälin founded EPEA Switzerland GmbH and has since been its CEO and an accredited assessor for the Cradle to Cradle Certified® certification standard.
In 2021, he was awarded the CEO Today Europe Award 2021.
